Body poetry won the Second Prize in the last edition of the Ceramic International Contest in Alcora. The work has been recognised for its “highly conceptual language,” centred on notions of social critique that approach self-portraits and reveal the manipulation of the body to attempt to conform to established norms and ideals. The jury also highlighted the combination of diverse techniques, including moulds, screen-printed decal transfers, photography, and blown glass, within an approach akin to collage, remarking both a strong technical ability and a magnificent capacity for integration.

This edition of the competition featured significant participation, with 321 ceramic artists (200 international and 121 national) submitting a total of 472 works. From these, 42 pieces were selected for the CICA 2026 exhibition, which will be on view at the Museu de Ceràmica de l’Alcora from 15 May to 6 September 2026.
