Daily beauty accumulation, 2020-21 / Porcelain /Variable dimensions
Images surround us; messages corner us; aesthetic impositions are shown as the only reality, altering our sensibility.
The paradigm of a society is corseted by the advertising bombardment that transforms us and modifies our aesthetics to the beat of the market while controlling our deepest desires.
When the concepts of beauty and health become part of a constant obligation in which we must immerse ourselves to exist; the –biased– gaze longs for what is marked as beautiful and makes it last until the following season…
This exhibition revolves around a dialogue between three women; all of them are divided between their “being” and their “must be”. The works that make up this tour invite us to rethink aesthetic conventions and analyze them from the violence that generates them; works that speak to each other to build a single piece throughout the exhibition space in which beauty and aesthetics always remain at the forefront, the result of an excellent plastic and conceptual execution.
It is also a dialogue that draws on the personal aesthetics of each one and that manifests itself in different states and thoughts. Often, the accumulation of a collector is the trait that unites them most, followed by a subsequent creative process that transforms these accumulations into a tool for reflection.
Accumulations –whether formal or conceptual– of objects, moments, words…
Shared rituals, perverted rituals, altered rituals.
Algunes imatges poden alterar la sensibilitat de l’espectador (Viewer discretion is advised) will be on view until the 9th of March at Can Manyé.
